Safeguarding
The comprehensive high safeguarding policies and procedures exercised at Thames Ditton Infant School are in place for Acorns.
We run at a 1:10 adult to child ratio. Our staff at Acorns are a mix of our own trusted and high quality staff, and a selection of newly recruited enthusiastic, inspiring and passionate individuals.
All staff are DBS checked to Enhanced Level and receive training in Play work/Childcare. Playworkers also receive ongoing training in various aspects of child supervision and care, including safeguarding, behaviour management, child protection and activity delivery. The Acorns Manager on duty is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for each session.
We always have a Paediatric First Aid trained member of staff on site and access to medical equipment, supplies and records.
