Could You Spare a Little Time to Support Our Children and School? We’d love to welcome you as a parent helper!

Whether you have an hour a week or just a bit of time here and there, your help can make a big difference. No special expertise is needed — we’ll give you all the guidance and support you need to make your time with us rewarding and enjoyable.

    How You Could Get Involved

On a Weekly or Bi-Weekly Basis
(Anything from 1 hour to a whole morning or afternoon!)

    • Supporting children in class with reading, handwriting, maths, and more
    • Playing board games or leading sports activities with small groups
    • Helping out in our outdoor learning environments
    • Caring for our school pets
    • Taking groups of children to and from the school library
    • Tidying and organising the library
    • Assisting with admin tasks like filing, sticking, or preparing resources

    For Special Events or Projects

    • Supporting art projects or creative activities
    • Helping with food preparation and cooking

Can’t Volunteer During the School Day?

There are still ways to get involved! We sometimes have resources that can be prepared at home — perfect for a quiet evening in front of the TV. For example:

    • Cutting out shapes
    • Stringing bunting
    • Assembling simple materials

Our Volunteering in School Policy explains what you can expect when volunteering with us.

If you're interested in helping out, please email the school office with your availability and the kind of tasks you'd enjoy — we’ll be in touch to get you started!

What You’ll Need to Do First

Before starting, all volunteers will need to:

    1. Fill out the DBS application form and return it to the school office.
    2. Once submitted, you’ll receive an email from Strictly Education to complete your details online.
    3. Bring in your original documents for verification. Please see the document below for information about the documents you'll need.
    4. You will need to watch a short safeguarding video as part of your induction.
    5. Sign a Childcare Disqualification declaration (paper copies available in the school office).

Thank you so much for considering giving your time — every little bit of help makes a big difference to our children and school community!
