  • Medical Information and Guidelines

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, parents and carers are expected to follow the guidance below.

    Reporting Illness

All parents and carers must contact the school office on 020 8398 5842 or e-mail to report the reason for your child's absence from school before 8:30am. Visit our attendance page for further information.

Children who have experienced sickness or diarrhoea must remain at home for at least 48 hours after the last episode.

    Sickness and Diarrhoea

If your child has vomiting or diarrhoea, they are not allowed to attend school until 48hours after the last bout. For more information regarding other illness queries, please visit the NHS' page: Is my child too ill for school?

    Medical Appointments

Medical and dental appointments should be arranged outside of school hours wherever possible.

Where this is not possible, the School Office must be informed in advance. Children must be signed out and back in by an adult.

    Long-Term Medical Needs

Parents and carers must inform the school of any ongoing medical conditions (e.g. asthma, allergies).

Where appropriate, an individual health care plan (IHCP) will be put in place. Any prescribed medication (such as inhalers or EpiPens) must be clearly labelled and provided to the school.

If your child has a medical need, please complete this form.

Prescribed Medication During the School Day

Medication will only be administered in school where it is essential for it to be taken during school hours (for example, a course of prescribed antibiotics).

All medication must be handed to the School Office and be accompanied by the form below clearly stating dosage and timing.

Medication will be administered by a member of staff in accordance with the information provided.

    Emergency Contacts

Please ensure the school is kept up to date with any changes to your emergency contact details.
Emergency contacts should be local and able to attend the school promptly if needed. In the event of an emergency involving your child, it is essential that we can reach you without delay.
