A very warm welcome to Thames Ditton Infant School

As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud to lead this wonderful school at the heart of our supportive local village community.

At Thames Ditton Infants, we are passionate about fostering a love of learning from an early age and laying strong foundations for future success. We are committed to ensuring that every child feels happy, valued, and inspired each day. The experiences and memories made during these early years are precious, shaping our pupils as they grow and learn.

    A Strong Community

Our school provides education for children aged 5 to 7, from Reception to Year 2, with two classes in each year group, and a specialist class in each year group for children with Special Educational Needs and a primary diagnosis of autism.

Most of our pupils move on to Thames Ditton Junior School for Key Stage 2, which is located within the village. This close connection helps create a strong sense of community across our schools, fostering continuity in learning and friendships.

    Our School Environment

We are fortunate to have a spacious, well-equipped school building set within extensive grounds. Our bright, airy classrooms provide an engaging and well-resourced learning environment for our pupils.

Outdoors, we are truly privileged! Each class has its own dedicated outdoor space, used daily to enrich learning and play. In addition, we have a large multi-surface field for sports, artificial grassed areas, and multiple playgrounds featuring modern, purpose-built play equipment for children to enjoy.

    Our Learning

We are committed to delivering the highest quality education in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. Our rich and engaging curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of discovery. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to ensure that every child thrives, grows in confidence, and reaches their full potential.

As a proud member of the Ember Learning Trust, we collaborate closely with partner schools (Claygate Primary, Long Ditton Infants and Long Ditton St. Mary's) to provide continuity and enhanced learning provisions for local families. Being part of this trust brings a wealth of benefits, including shared learning resources, specialist events in areas such as Art, Music, and PE, as well as valuable professional development opportunities for staff. Together, we ensure our pupils are well-prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.

    Our Pupils and Their Families

The success of our school is built upon the high standards of behaviour, engagement, and attendance demonstrated by our pupils—something we achieve with the invaluable support of our parents and carers. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for every child.

We invite you to explore our website, prospectus, and video to learn more about life at Thames Ditton Infant School. If you have any questions or would like to attend one of our Open Day events, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I look forward to welcoming you to the school!

    Kindest regards

    Elspeth
