At Acorns, we uphold the same rigorous safeguarding policies and procedures that are in place across Thames Ditton Infant School, ensuring a safe and secure environment for every child in our care.
Our provision operates with a 1:10 adult-to-child ratio, supported by a dedicated team made up of our trusted school staff alongside a carefully selected group of enthusiastic, inspiring, and passionate new recruits.
All members of the Acorns team are DBS checked to Enhanced Level and receive training in playwork or childcare. In addition, our Playworkers take part in ongoing professional development, covering key areas such as safeguarding, behaviour management, child protection, and activity planning.
Each session is overseen by the Acorns Manager, who also serves as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). A member of staff trained in Paediatric First Aid is always on site, with access to appropriate medical equipment, supplies, and records.
