Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team to start this term. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, ensuring all children are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

• Provide targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs.

• Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources.

• Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities as required.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.


About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about working with children and helping them succeed.

• Patient, approachable, and able to build positive relationships.

• Organised, flexible, and able to work well as part of a team.

• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.

• Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), although training can be provided for the right candidate.

Contract Details

• This role is 18.75 hours per week for 38.6 weeks per year.

• Working hours are from 8:25am – 3:10pm, Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with an unpaid half-hour break during the hours of work.

School Business Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and forward-thinking School Business Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team at Thames Ditton Infant School.

You will work closely with a dedicated and collaborative staff team, within a positive and welcoming workplace culture.


About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding position requiring a proactive and adaptable individual with strong leadership and organisational skills. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of the school’s resources and operations.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong financial management experience, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Be highly IT literate, confident using and implementing systems (e.g. SIMS, FMS, Tucasi) to improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of finance, HR, recruitment, and health & safety within a school setting.
  • Show strategic thinking and the ability to contribute effectively to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Have proven experience managing staff, systems, and operational processes.
  • Be highly organised, able to prioritise, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to report to a range of audiences including Governors.
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Be proactive, solution-focused, and confident in sharing ideas and driving improvement.
  • Ideally have previous school experience and a relevant finance or SBM qualification.
  • Be personable, positive, and committed to supporting the school’s ethos and community.

Working Pattern and Salary

  • 25 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate)
  • All-year-round contract (with 5.2 weeks of annual leave, increasing with length of service)
  • Flexibility to work additional hours by mutual agreement, where required
  • Salary: Surrey Pay Scale 10 (£47,142 – £51,175 full-time equivalent)

Clerk to Governors

Are you highly organised, proactive, and looking for a flexible role where you can make a real impact? Thames Ditton Infant School, part of Ember Learning Trust, is seeking a dedicated Clerk to support our Governing Bodies and contribute to the continued success of our schools.

Ember Learning Trust is a close-knit partnership of four local schools, working collaboratively to provide the very best outcomes for pupils. Located in the heart of Thames Ditton, Surrey, our schools benefit from a strong sense of community and shared purpose.

As Clerk to the Governing Body, you will play a key role in ensuring effective governance. Working closely with the Chairs of Governors, Headteacher, School Business Manager, and governors, you will coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and papers, take accurate minutes, track actions, maintain records, and provide advice on governance procedures and statutory requirements.

This role would suit someone with excellent organisational, communication, and ICT skills, who is able to manage their time effectively and work independently. Whether you are experienced in governance or looking to develop in this area, full training and ongoing support will be provided.

This is a part-time, term-time only position, offering flexibility around working hours. You will be required to attend approximately eight Full Governing Board meetings and six committee meetings per year (usually held before school or in the evening), as well as termly Trust meetings. The role totals approximately 280 hours annually.

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute behind the scenes to the strategic leadership of our schools and make a meaningful difference in children’s education.

Wraparound Play Assistants

Love working with kids? Enjoy making every day an adventure?
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic Play Assistants to join our Acorns Breakfast and Afterschool Clubs!

At Acorns, children get the chance to explore, problem-solve, make decisions, and take safe risks through exciting, outdoor, hands-on activities. Our sessions are child-led, full of creativity, and way more fun than your average wraparound care.

Working Hours:

  • Before school: 7:15am – 8:45am

  • After School: 3:00pm – 6:15pm

  • Term time only, Monday to Friday
