Office Assistant

Are you highly organised, have good communication skills and attention to detail?

The school has an exciting opportunity to join our wonderful team at Thames Ditton Infant School. We are looking for an approachable, motivated and adaptable person to join our School team to provide high quality support for a varied range of administrative tasks. Candidates will have to demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm and enjoy working within a team, with all members of the school community; therefore excellent communication skills and a friendly, confident and welcoming nature are essential for this position.

Thames Ditton Infant School is a popular infant school located in Surrey, next to the River Thames. The school is at the heart of the local community and is part of The Ember Learning Trust, a group of local schools who have joined together to form a Co-operative Trust.

This role will be paid at Surrey Pay Scale 3. The role will be for 25 hours per week from 8:30am until 1:30pm, Monday - Friday, term time only + 2 weeks.

The responsibilities will vary and will include:

  • Undertaking office duties, acting as first point of contact in response to telephone and face-to-face enquiries and ensuring the school’s security procedures for visitors are properly followed, to provide a courteous welcome to all visitors and promote a positive and professional image of the school;
  • Carrying out routine office tasks to support the smooth running of the school office;
  • Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties; and
  • Covering during lunch time duty if required.

There will be opportunities for training and the role will be supported/mentored by experienced office staff.

Midday Supervisor

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and caring Midday Supervisor to join our friendly and supportive team this term. The successful candidate will be trustworthy, adaptable, and able to work positively with all members of the school community. Responsibilities will include supervising children during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and outdoors during playtimes, as well as helping to prepare and tidy the hall and play areas before and after lunch.

This role is fully supported by the wider staff team and offers opportunities for ongoing training and professional development. It can also provide an excellent pathway into other school-based roles, such as Teaching Assistant positions.

We are looking for a permanent part-time member of staff to work Monday to Friday from 11:15am to 1:15pm; a total of 10 hours per week over 38 weeks per year (Term Time only).

Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our vibrant team to start in January 2026. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, ensuring all children are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

• Provide targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs.

• Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources.

• Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities as required.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.


About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about working with children and helping them succeed.

• Apprenticeship training will require 3 hours of training per week within working hours.

Contract Details

• This role is 31.25 hours per week for 38.6 weeks per year.

• Working hours are from 8:25am – 3:10pm, Monday to Friday, with an unpaid half-hour break during the hours of work.

Wraparound Play Assistants

Love working with kids? Enjoy making every day an adventure?
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic Play Assistants to join our Acorns Breakfast and Afterschool Clubs!

At Acorns, children get the chance to explore, problem-solve, make decisions, and take safe risks through exciting, outdoor, hands-on activities. Our sessions are child-led, full of creativity, and way more fun than your average wraparound care.

Working Hours:

  • Before school: 7:15am – 8:45am

  • After School: 3:00pm – 6:15pm

  • Term time only, Monday to Friday
