Specialist Provision for Communication and Interaction Needs

The Nest is our dedicated specialist unit for children with high-level communication and interaction needs (High COIN), including those with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We welcome children from Reception to Year 2.

Opened in Autumn 2024, The Nest offers a purpose-built learning environment tailored to meet the unique needs of our children. The unit includes a well-equipped classroom and a designated outdoor area, carefully designed to provide a calm, structured, and nurturing space.

Our experienced staff support children in small group settings, allowing them to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs. We are committed to inclusion, and when children are ready, they are gradually supported to join mainstream classes for specific lessons and activities. This enables them to become active members of the wider school community while continuing to receive the support they need.
