Equality Duty

The Single Equality Scheme supports our Equality Policy and sets out the practical steps and actions which our school will take to promote equality and diversity and to eliminate discrimination, as required by the Equality Act 2010.  The Single Equality Scheme requires schools to consider the General and Specific Duties in promoting equality across the full range of protected characteristics namely: sex, race, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity.

Following engagement in a Surrey Schools Equality Project 2014-2015 the school is committed to working towards the Equalities Award during the Academic Year 2015-2016.  This will evidence strongly Thames Ditton Infants School’s commitment to equality and identify strengths in our practice, as well as supporting the school in identifying further areas for development.
